Title One

Title I is a federally funded program designed to help educationally disadvantaged children meet challenging content and performance standards.  The program was initially authorized in 1965 under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and was most recently reauthorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act passed in December of 2015.

Schools that receive Title I funding in the Wakefield School District may change from year to year.  The allocation for each school is based on the percentage of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch in combination with census data.
